Electromagnetic Interference & Compatibility
Numerical computing and value addition, in manufacturing process have led to increased compactness of electrical and electronic components. At the same time, switching frequencies of controllers and power devices have increased. This increased the risk of mutual interference and associated functional problems in such environments.
Compatability and Susceptability Assessment
Radiated and conducted electromagnetic disturbance should not exceed a level that disturbs radio, telecommunications, and other apparatus. Thus, EM compatibility and susceptibility assessment is done to ensure proper functionality of modern equipment.
Manav Follows EMC rules that are applied to the design, cabling and installation of signaling equipment, electronic boards, racks and cubicles, AC and DC power supplies, input/output ports, and wiring. Assessments of external constraints enable to describe the type of shield and armor fitment and connection to the earth.
Electromagnetic Hinderence Solutions
A detailed and meticulous procedure is followed to study Electromagnetic Hinderence and provide mitigation
Audit
- Check for emission & susceptibility w.r.t conduction, radiation, ESD and transient
- Check for equipment separation as per hazard analysis
- Check shielding adequacy
Measurements
Near field
H field 9 Hz to 150 KHz
Use appropriate antennae for measurement ranging from PCB components to outdoor applications
Far field
E Field 150 KHz to 30 MHz
E Field 30 MHz to 1 GHz
E field 1 GHz to 9 GHz
Design, Simulation and Modelling
An EMC management plan ensure overall EMC is present for a given project. It is a suite of EMC documentation for the project designed that displays the rules and regulations that must be adhered in the project such that the new work compliance with the EMC Directive.
We use state-of-the-art software such as CDEGS and EMTP-RV to stimulate EM scenario. These simulations allow focusing on interference Inter & Intra system EM interference risks. Simulation allows determining E- Field and H-field levels incident on sensitive equipment. Results are compared with susceptibility levels and allowable limits to determine an implementable solution. It involves determining:-
- Control plan
- Risk analysis
- Earthing/cabling rules
- Site measurement
- Induced voltages in longline networks
- Induced voltages in adjacent instrumentation and ELV networks
- Assessment report
- Project synthesis & certification
Product Supply
-
EM Compatible Glands for Apertures

Expert Services
Before project installation, we identify the source of EM disturbance through various EM tests. Based on the analysis of test result, we Install specific EM shielding components that are customized or readily available as per the identification process. After installation, we perform pre-commissioning Test & System Validation to check the correction made. On completion of this validation test, we commission the system such that if performs as intended in the given environment.
